National Water Week celebrated successfully

WaterweekERWAT this year once again celebrated National Water Week in collaboration with other role-players between 15 and 21 March.

The national theme for 2010 is: "Working Together We Can Save More"

National Water Week aims to create awareness to reiterating and emphasising the importance and value of water and sanitation.

The Department of Water Affairs (DWA) as the custodian of national water recourses and the water sector leader is mandated to co-ordinate and lead the National Water Week (NWW) in conjunction with water sector stakeholders.  During the week all role-players joined hands to raise the importance, awareness and understanding of water issues and challenges and highlighted initiatives that have been put in place to address them.

The focus of National Water Week is on raising awareness among all South Africans of the responsibility they have to use water wisely and sparingly to ensure the long term sustainability of our water resources.
