Description:

Bidders are hereby invited for the ONCE-OFF SUPPLY OF SERVICES FOR THE SCHEDULED GRASS CUTTING AND GENERAL CLEANING as per the following specification:

 

  1. Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality Water Services sites which includes wastewater and fresh water pump stations & reservoirs (Pump Stations). Which is estimated to a total area of ± 610 071 m2. The grass cutting services requires the following to be done as follows:

  • Cut and collect the grass; shrubs and other vegetation within the boundary fence or up to a maximum of 1 meter around the applicable area in the absence of a boundary fence. The collected grass and shrubbery must be dumped on waste designated areas.

  • Grass, shrubs and other vegetation shall be cut 1 meters outside the fence perimeter as and where agreed upon.

  • Kill the weeds, grass, shrubs or any vegetation by means of chemical on areas where it is impossible to use equipment and trim edges neatly using trimmers and or bush cutters (e.g. around poles and on the edges of buildings and pavements).

  • Length of the cut grass to be between 50 to 100mm as measured from soil.

  • Contractors should also clear grounds within the boundary fence of all litter, obsolete parts, excessive work material and other debris

  • The contractor shall be responsible to sweep the paving and roads and to remove all grass, shrubs and vegetation off-cuts generated on specified grass cutting area within two working days after the grass cutting operations has taken place including the legal disposal thereof at an authorized waste disposal site at his/her own cost.

     

  • Contractor shall provide disposal certificate from the disposal site to proof safe disposal of waste according to the disposal requirements

QUOTATION REQUIREMENTS

Work offered that DO NOT comply with the specifications will not be evaluated. The successful bidder must register on National Treasury’s Centralised Supplier Database.

Website Tenders evaluation shall be performed on 80:20 principles (Pricing and functionality 80% and BBBEE 20%).

PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO MEET ANY OR ALL OF THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION

  • Valid Certified copy or original BBBEE Compliance Certificate;
  • Valid Tax Clearance Pin issued by SARS on e-filing;
  • Copy of Latest Municipal Account (not older than three months from date of closing);
  • Declaration of Interest – MBD 4.2

NB: Bidders will not be allowed on any of the ERWAT sites without a work permit and the correct PPE gear.

GENERAL NOTES:

All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the relevant bid number and description that must be deposited in the relevant tender box on the said closing date on or before 12:00 pm

No late bids will be accepted or considered.

Bidders are required to ensure that their bid is deposited in the correct bid box that is marked Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 

The closing date will be the indication for which tender box day is relevant.
