Bidders are hereby invited to provide:

 

Appointment for accredited service provider to conduct In-House training for operating regulation for high voltage systems (ORHVS).

Scope of work:

The training course must include the following as a minimum requirement:

  1. Access

  1. Study Unit 1 – Control of the power system

  2. Study Unit 2 – Keys

  3. Study Unit 3 – Access controlled areas

 

  1. Responsible Person

  1. Study Unit 1 – Making apparatus or lines safe to work on

  2. Study Unit 2 – Work permit system on the distribution/transmission network

  3. Study Unit 3 – Testing of apparatus on the distribution system

 

  1. Appointed Operator

  1. Study Unit 1 – Control of the power system

  2. Study Unit 2 – Safe operating and work practices

  3. Study Unit 3 – Exception to the general procedure and abnormal conditions

  4. Study Unit 4 – Live work

 

General requirements:

  1. The course must be SETA accreditation this is a compulsory requirement.

  2. Documentation outlining course content must be supplied

  3. Training is required for sixteen (16) people.

  4. The course must be designed to ensure that the participant can be certified competent in terms of safe isolation and access to high voltage equipment.

  5. Performance measurement and testing in relation to the elements included in this course must comply with current legislation, especially the OSH Act and their subsequent amendments, electricity supply industry codes of practice and Eskom standard; 240-114967625.

  6. The performance and progress assessments during the course must be by means of written tests and practical assessments

  7. A certificate of competency must be issue on the completion of the course.

  8. Training must be done in two groups (8 per group )

  9. The course schedule for the two groups must also be submitted.

  • BBB-EE Certificate

  • CSD Registration

  • Proof of similar work

 

Quotation Requirements:

 

Work offered that DO NOT comply with the specifications will not be evaluated. The successful bidder must register on the ERWAT vendors list. Forms to be downloaded from the ERWAT website. Quotation evaluation shall be performed on 80:20 principle (pricing and functionality 80% and BBBEE 20%)

NB: Bidders will not be allowed on any of the ERWAT sites without a work permit and the correct PPE gear.

GENERAL NOTES:

All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the relevant bid number and description that must be deposited in the relevant tender box on the said closing date on or before 12:00 pm

No late bids will be accepted or considered.

Bidders are required to ensure that their bid is deposited in the correct bid box that is marked Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 

The closing date will be the indication for which tender box day is relevant.
