Suitably reputable, qualified and experienced service providers are hereby invited to submit a written proposal to provide solutions for the PROPOSALS FOR THE SOLUTION FOR THE SUPPLY, DELIVERY, LAUNDRY AND MAINTENANCE OF PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT, ACT 85 OF 1993, FOR ERWAT FOR THE PERIOD OF THREE (3) YEARS.

Key outcomes:

Request for proposals from potential service providers to advise on possible solutions for The Supply, Delivery, Laundry and Maintenance of Protective Clothing and Accessories in Accordance with The Provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The primary objective(s) of the services are to:

  1. Facilitate and coordinate the Supply, Delivery and Issuing of Protective Clothing to ERWAT staff.

  2. Facilitate and coordinate the laundry of the staff’s Protective Clothing within the 19 Waste Water Care Works Plants, ERWAT Head Office, ERWAT Laboratory, Technical Services and Commercial Business Department to ensure that all employees comply in accordance with the OHS Act.

  3. ALL the laundry from the Industrial Treatment plants that are being managed and operated by Commercial Business Department will be delivered and collected from one ERWAT Plant in the 3 Drainage Districts.

  4. Provide maintenance to PPE on an ongoing basis

  5. Identify and propose various options to achieve the above in line with market trends to effectively and efficiently reach the objectives.

     

    Prospective service providers will be required to give a formal comprehensive presentation on the various options available to achieve these objectives at a pre-determined date and time.

     

    The proposal and presentation must include a comprehensive layout of the following (not limited to):

  •  Costing modules for each option available;

  •  Advantages and disadvantages of each option;

  •  Reliability, successes and effectiveness of each option;

  •  Logistical arrangements for each option;

  •  On site/off site facilitation;

  •  Provide for options such as rental, outright purchase with onsite/offsite services/facilities, outsourcing the full function, etc.

No e-mail or faxed bids/proposals shall be accepted. Bids/Proposals that are not received on the specific time and date will be marked as late bids/proposals and such bids/proposals will, in terms of the Supply Chain Management Policy of ERWAT, not be considered by ERWAT as valid bids/proposals.

Bidders’ attention is specifically drawn to the provision of the bid rules which are included in the bid document.

The lowest or any bid will not necessarily be accepted and ERWAT reserves the right not to consider any bid not suitably endorsed or comprehensively completed, as well as the right to accept a bid in whole or part. Bids completed in pencil will be regarded as invalid bids.
