SPECIFICATIONS

 

1.1.     Instrument

The instrument must consist of the following specifications:

1.1.1.       A minimum of 2-Methane Gas detectors (CH4).

1.1.2.       Maximum weight of 350g.

1.1.3.       Rugged and IP67 (Dust and Watertight) with belt clip or pouch.

1.1.4.       360 degree flashing visual alarm with minimum of 103dB audible alarm.

1.1.5.       Integral data logger that can be easily downloaded to PC for viewing, storing and evaluation in Table or Graph format.

1.1.6.       Rechargeable NiMh battery packs with option of using Alkaline AA batteries, supplying up to 24 Hours operation.

1.1.7.       Battery charge time less than 4 hours.

1.1.8.       Must be able to be allocated to users and locations which will be indicated on data logging evaluation.

1.1.9.       Must be able to remind user of all necessary Bump Tests, Calibrations and Inspection intervals on start up.

1.1.10.     Must be able to indicate when sensors have reached end of life prior to expiring.

1.1.11.     Must have the option to add an electronic pump and the pump must have its own power supply and not be dependent on the instruments power.

1.1.12.     Once the pump is attached the instrument must be able to operate in pump or diffusion mode without needing to remove the pump.

1.1.13.     Must have a top mounted LCD Display, which is heterochromatic (changes color on alarm condition), must be 180° invertible (always facing user depending how it’s carried) and must simultaneously display all gases with time and battery capacity.

1.         General Requirements

The requirements for the supply of portable 2-Methane gas monitors and accessories are as follows:

2.1       Only equipment that complies with the relevant SANS codes and IEC standards shall be used.

2.2       Submissions shall be detailed in an itemised format as detailed by description.

2.3       SABS IA approval certificate as well as (ATEX II 2G EEx ia d IIC T4/T3) rating attached.

2.4       Guarantee period of 24 calendar months is required on all material or otherwise stated in Section 4 – the warranty time.

2.5       Lead time on delivery shall be specified.

2.6       Delivery and commissioning period must be provided.

2.7       Must comply with IEC60079-29-2 (International Electrotechnical Commission for Gas Detectors).

2.8       Test station and docking station must be available to only bump test the gas detectors according to the IEC60079-29-2 Standard.

Quotation Requirements:

 

Work offered that DO NOT comply with the specifications will not be evaluated. The successful bidder must register on the ERWAT vendors list. Forms to be downloaded from the ERWAT website. Quotation evaluation shall be performed on 80:20 principle (pricing and functionality 80% and BBBEE 20%)

GENERAL NOTES

Completed tenders / quotations must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked with contract number and description and to be hand delivered, in the TENDER BOX at the FOYER at ERWAT Head Office, Bapsfontein road, Kempton Park.  No e-mail or faxed bids/proposals shall be accepted.  Bids/Proposals that are not received on the specific time and date will be marked as late bids/proposals and such bids/proposals will, in terms of the Supply Chain Management Policy of ERWAT, not be considered by ERWAT as valid bids/proposals.
