Bids are hereby invited to provide SANS 10142-1 & Electrical Installation Regulations (EIR) In-house training for fifteen (no.15) delegates at Hartebeestfontein Office Park as for the following specification

Course Outline: SANS 10142-1 & EIR

This course specifically developed to give a good introduction and essential background, understandable level and good understanding for delegates as­sociated or delivering service in the requirements for SANS 10142 Part 1 for Electrical Installation. Provide delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills to inspect and test existing and new installations, the necessity for documenting results, and the use of a Certificate of Compliance & Test Report as per the new requirements. It is presented at a practical level, and covers all the essential information required to give the candidate an understanding of principles and application in the field of implementing the relevant Legislation

2.     Standards (Example: SANS 10142-1)

3.     Principles of Inspecting an Electrical Installation.

4.     Installation Inspection techniques (Introduction)

5.     Quality Control / Management

6.     Inspection Procedure

8.     Fundamental Requirements

9.     SANS 10142-1 - Regulation 8.6 Inspection and Regulation 8.7 Testing

10.  Understanding of electrical materials/parts / equipment used in elec­trical installations.

11.  SANS 10142-1 Concepts.

12.  Understanding Instruments and Tools

13.  Fundamental Requirements Principals.

14.  Understanding New Parts to SANS 10142-1 Edition 2 and Change.

15.  Understanding Test Instruments / Tests and the outcome of the test.

16.  Applying the corrective action when a test instrument indicates a spe­cific fault.

17.  First Aid for Electric Shock

18.  Copy of the SANS 10142-1 code must be issued to delegate

General requirements:

·       The course must be ECSA and CPD accredited.

·       Training must be done in two groups.

Quotation Requirements:

Work offered that DO NOT comply with the specifications will not be evaluated. The successful bidder must register on the ERWAT vendors list. Forms to be downloaded from the ERWAT website. Quotation evaluation shall be performed on 80:20 principle (pricing and functionality 80% and BBBEE 20%)

Ps = Points scored for price of bid under consideration.

Pt = Rand value of bid under consideration.

Maximum of 20 points may be awarded for being HDI, subcontracting with an HDI, and/or achieving specified goals.

Above points must be added to points scored for price.

Only bidder with the highest points scored may be selected.

Work offered that DO NOT comply with the specifications will not be evaluated. The successful bidder must register on National Treasury’s Centralised Supplier Database.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO MEET ANY OR ALL OF THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION

  • Valid Certified copy or original BBBEE Compliance Certificate;
  • Valid Tax Clearance Pin issued by SARS on e-filing;
  • Copy of Latest Municipal Account (not older than three months from date of closing);
  • Declaration of Interest – MBD 4.2

NB: Bidders will not be allowed on any of the ERWAT sites without a work permit and the correct PPE gear.
