Bids are hereby invited for the FIBER OPTIC INSTALLATION AT HARTEBEESTFONTEIN OFFICE PARK

Scope of work is (But not limited to) the following:

·       The termination and splicing of fiber optic cables and installation of media convertors (Ethernet switches)

 

  1. The termination and splicing of exiting fiber optic cables (8 core) in the main generator control panel including the following;

a.     One Fiber optic termination (splice) box.

b.     The two cables from splice box to switch

c.     One Media convertor (Ethernet switch)

d.     Two connection cables required to link to two devices (TCP/IP)

 

 

  1. The termination and splicing of exiting fiber optic cables (8 core) in the server room including the following;

a.     One Fiber optic termination (splice) box.

b.     The two cables from splice box to switch

c.     One Media convertor (Ethernet switch)

d.     Two connection cables required to link to two devices (TCP/IP)


 

  1. The termination and splicing of exiting fiber optic cables (8 core) in the main distribution board Block A first floor including the following;

a.     One Fiber optic termination (splice) box.

b.     The two cables from splice box to switch

c.     One Media convertor (Ethernet switch)

d.     Two connection cables required to link to, two devices (TCP/IP)

e.     Four 25mm holes drilled through concrete slab first floor to ground floor.

f.      Run the two connection cables required to the two devices (TCP/IP) fron first to ground floor.

 

 

  1. The supply and install of media convertor (Ethernet switch) in the block B distribution board, including the following;

a.     One Media convertor (Ethernet switch)

b.     Two connection cables required to link to, two devices (TCP/IP)

c.     Four 25mm holes drilled through wall into the security room.

d.     Run one connection cable from the media convertor (Ethernet switch) to the ICT network.

 

General:

1.     Media convertors (Ethernet switches) must comply to the following;

a.     Web managed TCP/IP multimode unit.

b.     Two fiber ports (TX&RX) and Four copper ports (RJ-45 Female).

c.     Din rail mounted.

d.     Mounted in suitable enclosure.

e.     Supply circuit breaker and power connection included

 

 

2.     The Fiber optic termination (splice) box must comply to the following;

a.     All fibers must be spliced out female plugs in the splice box.

b.     Suitable (long enough) patch leads to media convertor (Ethernet switches) be supplied.

c.     Suitable (long enough) cables from media convertor (Ethernet switches) to device must be supplied.

 

3.     The connection cables media convertor (Ethernet switch) to the (TCP/IP) devices and the network connections must be Cat 6 cables.

 

4.     All cables must be run in trucking or sleeves to be supplied and installed the appointed service provider.

 

5.     Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC) required for all electrical connections.

 

 

6.     Project manager should be electrical registered with department of labour. Non-compliance will lead to disqualification.

7.     Data sheets must be supplied on the media convertor (Ethernet switches) that will be supplied and an approved installer agreement with the equipment supplier. Non-compliance will lead to disqualification.

 

 

Quotation Requirements:

 

Work offered that DO NOT comply with the specifications will not be evaluated. The successful bidder must register on the ERWAT vendors list. Forms to be downloaded from the ERWAT website. Quotation evaluation shall be performed on 80:20 principle (pricing and functionality 80% and BBBEE 20%)
